Thanks for your recommendations and opinions.
Maybe I'll try a Ricoh lens or go with the Pentax A or M 50mm f1.4.
I like the Zeiss lenses but somehow it's fun
to play with cheap lenses that's punch over ther price.
I am glad you're understand my writing because I'm usually only read English |
There is one, your fellow countryman, that does fantastic job with lens conversions... You might talk to him as he has great experience with MF lenses. See examples at his webpage:

Hello I want to buy a 50mm lens and want it to be sharp and contrasted around f2.2,I have owned a couple
off both the Pancolar and the Planar 50mm f1,7.One owe the Planars was great with outstanding clarity, and the
first and and most beaten upp Pancoler I had was great and probably the sharpest lens I ever owned, the two
mint samples I tried later was mediocre and not much better then the Pentacon,
What would you recommend around 50-55mm on a Canon aps-c that's really sharp att f2,2 ,nice blur is welcome too,
I will buy on ebay so the Pancolar and Planar ar a bit pricey this days but maybe worth It,or do you have some other
favorite to recommend. |

All very god lenses and some off them I have owned and sold before

The Pentax lenses have a very nice feling and smooth focusing Optical wery god maybe boring god......
My favorite so far is the Yashica ML it's contrasty wide open with sometimes funny bokeh,as sharp as Pancolar and Ricoh.
This is my opinion but I am only photographing for fun and is not to serious
about it.......
I will return with some pictures when time is on my side.... |

The SMC Pentax "K" 50/1.4 is one of the sharpest lenses I have, there is no letter where the "M" is in your SMC Pentax M 50/1.4. _________________ A Manual Focus Junky...

waiting for your samples and opinions!
abt. Pancolar, I find mine technically alright but I don't like the colors it produces, but this certainly is individual taste and what usually I see as 'sickly' colors can benefit some photos, depending on subject.
abt. Pentax M, some say it is optically better than the prior M42 versions, I also find my M lens faultless technically, but for some reason indeed somewhat 'boring', specially in comparison with the S-M-C which I adore. _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |

Now I have purchased and tried some "new" 50mm lenses.
Snowing here today, so I did a little comparison between my favorites, no scientific test but just to check if it is as similar as I think they are.
The sharpness have I tried in the past and at f1.8 and f2. is the C / Y planar 50mm f1.4,SMC Takumar 50mm and Rollei 50mm f1.8 slightly sharper than the rest.
Regarding price / performance is the Yashica ML 50mm f1.9 crystal clear winner .
I have tested several copies of Yashica, Takumar and Pancolar.
SMC Takumar is a really good lens but my favorite of reasons I can not quite explain is the Rollei Planar 50mm HFT and the Yashica.
I've tried some 30 additional 50-58mm lens and a few good ones worth mentioning is:
Konica 50mm f1.8(better than f1.7)
Olympus OM 50mm f1.8
Leitz Summicron 50mm f2
Pentacon mc 50mm f1.8
Ricoh 50mm f2.
Helios 44M-7
Revuenon 55mm f1.2
SMC Takumar 55mm f1.8/f2.
Pentax M 50mm f1.4
S-M-C Takumar 50mm f1.4
Chinon MC 50mm f1.7
