Just now a Contax 139 with 1.7/50 Planar was sold in an auction for 522 euros, and this is without auction costs.
I more or less followed this for the lens....

That seems to be an awful lot of money or am i overseeing something??

A mystery to me as well.
Seems a very high price for that camera and lens - even if it were brand new.
Highest ebay price that I could find for a similar camera with the 1.4 planar was

Yes this one is definitely a puzzle.
