Hello there,
it's been a long time since I posted to the forum; in the meantime me and my lovely wife visited beautiful but somewhat remote part of the country named Roztocze from where slides I've made had been scanned by most skillful scanner operator and are to be picked by tomorrow morning. In other words - I don't have them yet so nothing to brag about ;-)
But enough on that. There's an auction on allegro.pl (link here). As you can see it's Vivitar 90/2.8 macro 1:1. I am happy owner of Tamron SP 90/2.5 and its 1:2 reproduction ratio whetted my apetite for 1:1. Problem is I couldn't find any decent source of comprehensive data on this lens. Would anyone provide a hint on how much it's worth and its performance? Current price is 250 PLN which is - more or less - $80.[/url] _________________ - Lukasz |

40 pounds is not that much, after all.

Afaik, (all) Vivitar 90/2.8 were made by Komine. (serial numbers begin with 28.....)
According to some infos I got, Panagor 90/2.8 is the same lens.
OK, here's what I found on that lens:

Komine manufactured both a 50/2.8 and 90/2.8 for Vivitar (serial number starts 28....). Neither is marked as being 'Series 1'. They are *very* well constructed (I have the 50mm version), even more so than the Kiron (with an incredible 'extension' mechanism that makes the length nearly tripple when going from inifinity to 1:1) but unfortunatly their image quality is not quite up to that of the Kiron, though it is certainly not bad _________________ Pentax Z20 |Pentax K100D |SMC K35/3.5 |SMC K50/1.4 |SMC A50/1.4
