I got Vivitar 35-70mm f2.8-3.8 (nikon mount) for 99cents Laughing but had to pay 5x S&H Embarassed .. but total remain within bargain limit ($6) Smile Very Happy
It is Komine manufactured (28-xx series).

I just tested the lens yesterday for few shots. It was raining, and not using camera that much these days.. so just the test shots...

To me, the lens is a good one. Cant believe going to this price.

All captured raw, converted to TIFF with RawShooter and to jpeg with Picture Window Pro... no sharpening in any shot... All handheld.. focusing seems on point, but still, cant tell at far distance with MF.. esp with these subjects

Center sharpness test:

Keeping same center point, captured at 70mm, 50-55mm and 35mm. All captured wide open,
70mm @f3.8 ~50mm@~f3.2 35mm f2.8

No change in saturation, contrast, brightness etc...

All three shots are available here,
http://www.flickr.com/photos/asbalyan/tags/vivitar3570mmf2838centersharpenesstest/

Shot at 35mm

Center crops:

70mm @f3.8

~50mm@~f3.2

35mm f2.8

Macro setting, the lens goes to 1:4 magnification at 70mm. Full magnification, wide open at 70mm @f3.8
(can browse the full resolution pic by clicking on the pic.. again handheld.. may find little shake.. was stretching my limit of handheld)

Other shots, all stopped down, around f5.6,
(clouds)

Enjoyed the first cloud picture. I think it is decent for the price, maybe even better than that, but no sleeper. Wink
