What I could see of the picture on Fleabay , it looks like the serial number starts with 09 , they don't list the serial number
I think Kiron starts with 22 if memory serves me right. _________________ "A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist" -- Louis Nizer

I couldn't find the Nikon fit lens. There is a Minolta fit ..
Click here to see on Ebay
Serial # 09742661 and the characteristic focusing grip with "Vivitar Series 1" suggests Cosina. _________________ John |

The general design is EXACTLY the same (and manufacturing seems same) as my 28/90 2.8/3.5 Komime made
I would suggest SAME Opcon design but manufactured by COsina (instead of Komine)
Opcon design = Top quality
Cosina manufacturing = depends on price paid to Cosina !!
I Would suggest that it is EXACTLY the same lens design that the TOP QUALITY 28/90 but streched to 105mm [(the official 105mm/3.8 aperture seems coherent compared with the official 90mm/3.5)
For comparison : Link for S1 28/90 leaflet :
http://jfcampbell.us/photo/vivitar28-90.htm
ps : The actual aperture of the 28/90 is 3.5/4.5 _________________ OM USER .. I KEEP/USE:

All of the Series 1, 28-105 models were made by Cosina. There is an older Vivitar 28-105 Kobori (77xxxx) made model too. But, it is not a Series 1 model. If you are looking for a 28-105 in manual focus, the Kiron version is considerably better than both Vivitar versions. Here's a snap of the Kobori model.
