Vivitar 200mm f3.5 m42

bought one on ebay by mistake. i don't have an adapter but i do have one coming. anybody have experience with this lens. it does not seem have coatings and has a kiron serial number.

You are lucky.. this is one of the sharpest lens.. although shows horrible CA in certain situation... But it beats most of 200mm lens...

Who needs coating.. Mine is all scratched.. but all scratched at coating level.. doesnt impact at all...

thanks for the replies.
seems like i'll be doing a test once the adapter gets here. i already have a pentax MF f4 smc M200mm which is lighter and quite sharp thru out it's range

I agree I have two copies from them , they are all great lenses.

pleasently surprised. this lens may be sharper than my M200 f4. i'll have to see. 100% crop from the 'edge' of the shot at f3.5. i don't think it gets much better than this.



i can see just a little CA but that's easy to fix. great color and contrast. can't wait for a sunny day.

I have many Kiron lenses all are great, Vivitar 200mm f/3.5 I have Tokina and Komine made both are excellent in sharpness.
