Thanks Fellas.
Here are a few more images taken at the same time.
I was in a monochromatic mood, and the light suited it so they are mostly mono.
Even though it is only f3.5, some nice bokeh can be achieved by using the close up feature and zoom ring together.

Thank you - yes the sunflower does show off the lens' sharpness capability.
The light was just right for picking up the subtleties in grey tone - hence so many mono images.
I suppose I should include a picture of the lens, so - here we go

I had this lens for a short while. Within the Pentax community this lens is referred to as 'stack of primes'.
I remember it was pretty good, but had to be stopped down a bit in some situations (for CA reasons if I remember correctly). But capable lens (and photographer) as the images show! |

I have one copy - it is fine, and has no greenish-yellow tint.

Could be too coincidental -- may be lenses are not the problem. Adapter perhaps. Or camera / camera settings. _________________ ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮ like attracts like! ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮

Mine is fine too, no problems with decentering or odd colour casts. It has gone a bit stiff with age (haven't we all!) which I assume a clean and relube would solve.

It could be. For example, on Sony A7 my (not really adored) K mount RMC II Tokina 24mm lens wouldn't attach properly to Fotga adapter. It did attach to standard K&F adapter but it had very visible decentering effect (on Pentax cameras it didn't). When I bought newer K&F "Pro" adapter it worked perfectly on it, no visible decentering even after images being checked thoroughly. On the other hand other lenses worked fine on either adapter. Maybe these A series lenses differ slightly from the older series with their rear end and the adapter was designed not taking that into account. That the Tokina was built with different tolerances shouldn't be a surprise I suppose, after all it worked fine on the cameras it was designed for. |

Here is another image of the same flower as yesterday, but taken this evening.
The light was different and I have taken it from a different angle, and some more of the buds have opened.
Also, I sensed that I moved slightly when I took it as there was a small breeze....
Anyway enough excuses, I don't think it is as sharp as the previous image but close.............

Those lady slipper type flowers are prone to nodding in even the lightest trace of a breeze, and a challenge to photograph.
Flash helps some, but I prefer the long sunrays of early morning/late evening myself.
This is where a m/f lens has it over auto focus.
Early spring is a good time for stems that are still fairly strong, and opening buds.
Hard to believe, but it's just 90 some odd days away for us here- where it's currently minus 31C.
You still have some good detail on those petals.
