Typical "scary sharpness" I'm used to seeing from a good Pentax lens. Really quite amazing. Looks like a large format image. What camera was used for this? A K-1?
Also, where was this taken? It's a quite dramatic landscape. _________________ Michael

Taken with the aps-c Pentax K-5 in Wensleydale, one of the many Dales in the Yorkshire Dales. The Pentax 35-105/3.5 is often referred to as the "stack of primes". It is sharp indeed and costs around € 100.

I own a Canon nFD 35-105/3.5, which is a well-respected lens, but I don't think my Canon is capable of this sort of resolution. I should add one of these to my Pentax K collection. _________________ Michael

Thanks fellas.
The lens has a very useful close-up focusing feature that can be engaged at minimum focusing distance by pushing the focusing collar forwards and continuing to focus closely.
It is labeled MACRO on the lens, but of course it isn't macro - simply close focus. The zoom ring can still be used in conjunction with this for framing.
Here is another shot from last evening. It is a little grainy as the light was fading fast and I shot at ISO 1600

Nice to see some new pics. It is a gem. I also have the Contax 35-70 and compared them extensively and the Pentax is just as sharp in the center.
