Won the eBay auction for this lens in September at a ridiculously low price ($39).
Judging by the serial number it is made in 1956. 15-bladed diaphragm. Quite hefty (169g).
Classic Tessar design, pretty sharp even wide open. Colorful and contrasty too when it's not flaring - and it flares a lot. Lens hood (29.5mm thread) is pretty much a must.

I'm using this lens with B39-to-M39 adapter by ebay seller RareAdaptersTX. Not exactly cheap ($22+shipping) and made rather crudely, but it does it's job and I didn't feel like messing with DIY solutions this time.

I've already posted some examples shot with this Xenar, they can be found here:

The Xenar is a lovely lens and having so many aperture blades in your example will make it all the better than the versions I'm used to, fitted to Kodak Retinas. The 29.5mm screw-in lens hood is the same, however, and widely used on many Retinas and Retinettes, so if you're searching for one on-line this might give you a wider choice. Kodak produced (or at least branded) lens hoods in this fitting, also as an Instamatic Lens Hood!

I've seen those hoods on eBay, though I just cannot justify that kind of price (like $20+) to myself at the moment Smile
I have the 29.5mm to 37mm step-up ring and a matching lens hood, and that's what I use now. It's not very convenient as this contraption complicates access to the aperture ring, but at least it works.
