Here's another one. Unfortunately I front-focused this one, so the detail here is not as good as it could be:

I think f/5.6 at 200 ISO if I remember correctly.

There is not much sharpness difference in this lens from wide open to stopped down.

This is a whole scene:

100% detail wide open:

100% detail at f/5.6

all hand held.
It is possible that the f/5.6 detail might have been deteriorated by some hand shake.
However it is possible to see that there is not much difference in sharpness from wide open.
The only problem with wide open is that it gives some vignetting. Under other respects, it's just as good as the other stops, at least to my eyes.

If anything, it looks better wide open.

That is quite an achievement.

Thanks for the report Orio.

Is it the MM or the AE version ?

I have got the AE and it shows some purple fringing and chromatic aberrations wide open : http://flor27.free.fr/forums/carl_zeiss_tele-tessar_200_3.5/

Mine is an AE version, but I used it with for many shots and never noticed particular problems.

It must be the hard condition of my test shot...
