Rob

They are indeed lovely and the lens is a winner. I personally have the Tam 90/2.5 its predecessor and I love it.

I'm not sure the f2.5 90mm can be seen as a predecessor.
The f2.5 105mm wasn't macro or even close focus. It only goes down to 1.3 meters, not even as close as many of the Tamron zooms of the same period. My Adaptall 1 f2.8/3.5 35-80 (Another great Adaptall 1) has 'Macro' to 1:2.
Of course the f2.5 (And later f2.Cool 90mm SP lenses are great and not just as Macro lenses.
Again I think it shows that this 105mm (None Macro) lens seems to do pretty job of something it wasn't designed for. (I must try it stopped down!)

The bokeh is excellent in these samples.
