Okay. I bid and bought this because it was cheap ($9.99 + shipping) and no one else wanted it. I have no idea what the lens is, there is no front picture included with the sale.

A couple of clues. 1). It is attached to a Sears SL 11(F mount?) 2). Max aperture scale is 2.8 3). It has some sort of macro scales.

Please give your best guess and I will post who is correct when I get the item. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Looks like some rebranded Sigma 28mm to me....

The camera is probably a rebranded Ricoh Singlex TLS with M42 thread mount.

It looks very like my Ensinor 24mm styling and markings although I don't think its a 24mm. Probably 28mm.
For Ensinor read Clubman as well as others.

This Website says SL11 is a rebranded Singlex with F mount.

I could be wrong... but i think there were more than one version of the SL11.

The brand of the lens is most probably STAR-D.

is this lens made in korea?

I can read Star-D, and barely make out what looks like 28mm.

Is it a gold line star D 28mm macro or somethhing. mount could be Ricoh, M42 or Nikon F-mount.

Edited:

Perhaps I shoud have worded it the correct way around:

Star-D Gold Line Macro 28 mm F/2.8 Lens I will say the mount will possibly be M42.

Made in Japan rather than Korea, Tokina made? - honestly don't know

I agree, it's the same as the one I have. It's a very good lens.

With only difference that you have Praktica/Pentax Universal mount lens (I guess from the PU on your lens) better known as M42 lens mount... But as you say this is just a guess... Laughing

Here you have something useful, I guess... Laughing

Yep... it's M42! Only the older SL11 had the F-mount.

The more look, more common it becomes. Check this out, another distributor lens that shares more than a passing resemblance.

http://forum.mflenses.com/sakar-28mm-mc-macro-f2-8-n-ai-a-suprising-lens-t45826.html

Now the next logical question, who made these lenses?

Makina, Cosina, or Korean made 28mm/2.8 close focus. Cheap lens from the 80s.

2nd version of the screw mount SL 11. First version had Sears name engraved into the body, Not glued nameplate like your photo,

Nope. That Sakar has nothing to do with Star-D. STAR-D is rebranded Korean Samyang. See this topic:
