Hello to everyone.

I am a little confused about the Elmarit-R 90mm versions.
I have one with the serial no. 2930469 and engraved LEITZ WETZLAR.
According to Leica wiki site :
it should be a version II made in 1978. But, on the same page, the Leica-wiki site says that the production era for version II is 1980-1998.
More then that, my lens has more the look of the version I and not II (www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/90mm_f/2.8_Elmarit-R_I ).
Can someone clarify me on this matter?

Anyway, I like the lens very much, no matter which version it is. I just want to eliminate the confusion.

Is the telescoping hood one piece or two?

Your lens is a first optical version.
The second optical version starts from approx. number 3260000
The time span of the first optical version is 1964 to 1983
The second optical version goes from 1984 to 1997

The hood is the two pieces type.

Thank you Orio. I had the same opinion but wasn't sure.
It means that on Leica-wiki site is a mistake.
