Samples of the New Portra 160 in 120, Bessa I 6x9 folder (I've cross posted most of these in the 6x9 thread, apologies!)

Nice images I like them all! I still think this new film is old film exactly same than old Portra.

Yes, street shooting with a 6x9 is a fun thing with it's own look.

Really like the colors, first and last are the faves. Have to order some of
this in both 160 and 400. Congrats, Jussi!

Did you use an accessory rangefinder or guesstimated the distance on
these?

Wink I spit in my eyeball - and since I have a glass eye, I take it out and hold it at arm's length for the extra parallax. I have to put the eye back so I can see the lens marks. And then I zone focus.

New Portra 400 at least in 135 has a different color cast than 160. 160 tends to the yellow (like ColorPlus 200) and 400 towards the purple.

one good thing about 6x9. 8 is the absolute max number of photos on a roll Very Happy

+1 I think Attila may be right. It does look quite cool (colourwise! Smile) very similar to my pics with 160NC. The blurb says the grain has been improved, not that the old one was at all bad.

The first shot is very good in that there is quality, pop, and interest, and my eye keeps going back and forth to the girl in the middle who seems to be giving you a sneaky look.

Hrm . . . I still have some of the old stuff. So, is the VC and NC gone now, or what?

I've yet to use Portra for portraits. I find it to be just a great color film. So far I've only used it with medium format, but I sure do like the way my pics have turned out.
