...just how a sunday trip can turn into a nice photo "session" as well, mostly taken with a Vivitar 17/3.5 Tokina made version, a couple with a Nikkor 28/2 (28 mm proved to be too narrow) and in the Pbase gallery also with a AF Sigma 20/1.8

as always with my images Crying or Very sad please check the originals:

c&c is of course welcomed

Very nice series, #8 works best for me because it really gives the sense of scale.

+1, and No 5 as well. Do you know why the rock has eroded to that shape?

#5 also for the same reason.
It would be better to take some pictures at sunset to see the color variations in stone.

Thanx for the kind comments,
this rock formations are in a region (20 min by car from Koper, where i live) that geologically is know as "kras" in slovene language (carso in italian), and is full of caves, since is soft and is easly dissolved by water. The largest and most famous cave is Postojna cave http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postojna_Cave. I guess this formations are part of the phenomenon.
We stayed almost until 6 p.m. the sun was getting lower and the shadows where rising, but as the sun was moving towards west it was throwing new shadows from side Sad . I ll get there back soon and then in autumn, when the vegetation will have it s fall colors, i think there will be less shadows as the sun will be lower on the horizon.

Wonderful place!

I think Orio chose the best of the photos. I like #9 for same reason. In #9 cliffs look like enormous creature opening mouth...
