Yes, the outfit (camera+motor+battery+controller+charger) is fully operational. Quite heavy in the shown configuration, albeit rather lightweight when compared to other 35mm rigs (e.g. Arriflex 35, Aaton 35, Cameflex, Kinor etc)

Love this one and it is indeed very very rare.

Hmm, it's been a long time... meaning it's time for some Nikon appetizers again.

Old but trusty Zoom-Nikkors (L to R: 50-135 f/3.5, 35-105 f/3.5-4.5, 2x 43-86 f/3.5, 35-70 f/3.5):

And a few wide Nikkors here (L to R: 20 f/2.8, 18 f/3.5, 15 f/3.5):

Where do you store them ? Laughing 15mm Nikon is quite exciting , what is your opinion about this lens ?

PostPosted: Mon Jan 17, 2011 10:18 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Not an "easy" or everyday lens of course; angle of view and depth of field characteristics mean one has to get used to its special "touch" first and then try to explore its capabilities, but practically distortion-free images will be the reward at the end. Careful composition is a must with a lens that wide, as is a tripod as well. Above all, it's the sense of proportion between near-placed objects and background that makes this focal length so exciting.

Btw, for some reason, and despite the "so-and-so" character attributed to it by the majority of people (both users and reviewers) out there, my personal favorite in this segment is the 18mm f/3.5 Nikkor.

Thank you for your answer! My favorite wide range is 20-24mm , 15mm is not easy at all and even if I have 18mm Olympus OM and had 18mm Nikon I found 20mm f2.8 AIS is best one to my city shoots.

I understand your point, I, too, like the 20 f/2.8 Nikkor a lot. I bought it new from the local Nikon rep back in the early '90s and at some stage in the mid-90s I was using it a lot for internal architectural shots - very convenient in terms of giving that extra bit of coverage (compared to 24mm) and an excellent performer too.

Very recently I got a stroke of luck by means of finding (and buying) a second 300mm f/2 ED-IF Nikkor, this time a mint example (the TC-14C is virtually unused) with only the CT-300 case showing some slight signs from storage.
Both lenses depicted here:

Thank you all!

@Hari: Phew, 20,000+ slides plus a Nikon Coolscan but, alas, not enough time...

Anyway, here's one from the few I managed to scan (a detail of Alex Fiorio's Lancia Integrale while it's been serviced during the 36th Acropolis Rally in 1989):

And these are from my recent -but very limited- digital output (shot with my Kodak DCS Pro 14n):

The lenses of course. They don't need gas. All you need is G.A.S. Wink
