It was reasonably priced given the mint condition (less than what some battered or modified ones are offered on *bay) - plus it was located in Greece, very close to my place. Now, that was a surprise to me, I thought I was the only 300/2 owner in the country...

I can't disclose details of course, can you imagine what will happen in case my wife ever enters this forum? Very Happy Laughing

Very recently I got a stroke of luck by means of finding (and buying) a second 300mm f/2 ED-IF Nikkor, this time a mint example (the TC-14C is virtually unused) with only the CT-300 case showing some slight signs from storage.

You now have two 300/2 Nikkors??? Congratulations, you and Bill Frakes are probably the only persons in the world who have double copies of this rare gem.

Call it a wild guess but since you clearly da man to ask; any chance of pics of the Nikkor 6mm f/2.8 (the 220-degree FoV fisheye) or the Nikkor 13mm f/5.6 Razz Razz Razz

Camera seems so small with this cannon. What about some pics made with it?

Haven't used it yet. But I'm thinking of trying it on my DMC-L1...

I came up with an idea to create a longer hood extension for the 300/2 Nikkor, specifically for those rare cases when used as a 600/4 or 840/5.6 (by means of appropriate Nikon converters). Many-many years ago I had acquired a spare HE-1, so I used this plus some seamless alu tubing and the end result is shown here (mounted on the 300/2 & TC-14c combo):

Original HE-1 can be seen in the background.
