Hello,
Here is a sample of compared viewfinders (film vs. digital). I wonder, when a consumer dSLR will have at least a K1000's viewfinder.
Unfortunately, the site is only in romanian, but the pictures are pretty relevant !

In the table are some cameras (the column "Aparat" - where the LX is written I think it means Pentax LX with FE1 prism, ofr example -, "Magnify"= column "Marire", "Coverage"=column "Acoperire"), mostly Pentax-es (LX, MX, MX-S, K10D...) but Canon 350D too. _________________ Canonet QL17 III

The last one (Position 6) would be good when panning. _________________ Canonet QL17 III

That's true, but that is also true for JPEG and for films that went through darkroom development, isn't it?
A wrong temperature during the negative development process and the colours are different.
Anyway, thanks for the interesting link! _________________ Canonet QL17 III

Here is an illuminating test concerning the difference between a stock Nikon D200 and a modified one with the AA filter removed:

I wonder if a conversion of an existing 5D is possible.
Sure, see http://www.maxmax.com/hot_rod_visible.htm ,
but I don't think you'd like the Moire Smile
