Hello,

Here is a sample of compared viewfinders (film vs. digital). I wonder, when a consumer dSLR will have at least a K1000's viewfinder.
Unfortunately, the site is only in romanian, but the pictures are pretty relevant !

http://www.fotomozaic.ro/artikel.php?s=1&categ=0&idstory=69

In the table are some cameras (the column "Aparat" - where the LX is written I think it means Pentax LX with FE1 prism, ofr example -, "Magnify"= column "Marire", "Coverage"=column "Acoperire"), mostly Pentax-es (LX, MX, MX-S, K10D...) but Canon 350D too.

Hello,

Some tips about working with a monopod:

http://www.outdooreyes.com/photo5.php3

http://www.fotomozaic.ro/artikel.php?s=1&categ=0&idstory=41
(its in romanian, again. sorry. watch the pictures/positions)
The last one (Position 6) would be good when panning.

submitted by vilva ( Differences between RAW converters )
After the RAW conversion, there is no such thing as an unmodified photo. A test by Erwin Puts at

http://www.imx.nl/photo/technique/raw_developers_and_the_shar.html

submitted by LucisPictor ( Re: Differences between RAW converters )
That's true, but that is also true for JPEG and for films that went through darkroom development, isn't it?
A wrong temperature during the negative development process and the colours are different.

Anyway, thanks for the interesting link!

submitted by vilva ( The effect of the AA filter )
Here is an illuminating test concerning the difference between a stock Nikon D200 and a modified one with the AA filter removed:

http://www.maxmax.com/nikon_d200hr.htm

I wonder if a conversion of an existing 5D is possible.

Sure, see http://www.maxmax.com/hot_rod_visible.htm ,

but I don't think you'd like the Moire Smile

Lens angle of view calculator - also works offline if you save the webpage.

Enter the number "6" in each of the width and height fields for 6 x 6 medium format etc.

Exposure calculator for use with extension tubes and convertors - handy for those still using cameras with no TTL metering.
