A very nice astro lens found it's way into my hands today. Obviously a refurbished and remounted lens. Diaphragm ring without numbers, with added M39 focussing mount.
To bad that I have no micro 4/3 so I could try it only as close-up lens on my Canon.

Stormy and rainy weather, so just a quick shot outside at 1:1,8

Klaus, I think your lenses deserve a true mirrorless camera like the NEX series. It can be so much fun...

Interesting lens, the bokeh looks promising. Looks to me like they took a collapsible Elmar or the Fed/Industar copy and replaced the lens part with the Astro lens, very ingenious!

I've never even seen an Astro Berlin lens anywhere else but your posts, Klaus!

Are they rare or just rare outside Germany?

PostPosted: Fri Jul 15, 2011 6:28 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

They are pretty rare, everywhere. Around 69 years in business and I doubt, I've seen a serial-# above 69xxx. And that included cine lenses, special purpose lenses, like repro-lenses, X-ray lenses... A lot of lenses were sold to broadcast companies. And everything, they made was pretty expensive and not made for the amateur's market.

So in case you see an Astro-lens at an affordable price, you probably should buy it. It might pay you back.

Yes, maybe....
But maybe I can't resist earning a lot of money with it on Ebay. Will see. Was offered another Pan-Tachar and finally, I have to decide which one to keep.

OK, maybe we can talk about 75xxx. 5000 more or less does not make a real difference at this numbers.
Btw: Nice lenses!

This 5/150 is one of the most beautiful lenses I have ever seen:

There are a few more Astro lenses on ebay but they are all extremely expensive, 500-1500!!!

I'll keep my eye out for a cheap one but somehow I think cheap ones don't exist looking at the prices on ebay!!!
