I was looking at some micro 4/3 samples on flickr and accidentally stumbled on following:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/xy9z/4670508440/in/photostream/

The samples from this lens look very nice and those cameras are not so expensive. So now ... i have a plan to convert one of those lynx 14 lenses to NEX. Unfortunately those cameras are kind of rare here in Europe and almost all of them I've seen on ebay has a fault with aperture non working.

The plan is in progress now. I've won an broken Yashica Lynx 14E for 40 EUR. If it cannot be repaired it will go under the knive. Twisted Evil and the silver yashinon will look nice on the Nex Very Happy

There are lots of pix on this photostream showing how the lens is disassembled in order to take out the shutter blades. Don't know if i will have the patience to do it myself .. with all those small screws and parts. Maybe it is a good idea to give it to a technician.

Thats the Samples from this yashinon

Yashica RF have good lenses without any doubt , most similar conversion just one time game when it is done no more interest about on it. For Nex plenty of lenses available with a single adapter include many cheap ones too (Russian RF lenses for example)

heh
Actually I got the lynx yesterday. Apart from the sticky shutter, the ring with the speeds was rotating freely and also the film transport and light meter damaged.

.. so i have taken the lens apart. - some of the screws were not easy to unscrew and i cut off most of the shutter gears.

The lens is a big chunk of aluminium and glass. As big and heavy as the other SLR 50 1.4 just the register is shorter.

After playing for a while it turned that I have to cut several mm from the black metal ring on the back in order to be able to focus it to infinity. Also i need to put a spacer (ring) with the proper width between the adapter base and the lens.

So there are some more things to do Smile
Maybe a better idea will be to get an dedicated 50 /1.4 Smile

Finally mounted it over a c-mount/NEX adapter. I haven't figured out how to make the focusing ring work - The lens is still useable .. just you need to be careful not to unscrew it from the adapter Smile

I think it's a lots of post processing .. but with the NEX there is no such thing as no post processing. Very Happy

This yashinon will need a deep hood for sure - most of the pics were too bright and with low contrast - I suspect it's because of a flare.

On f 1.4 it is not that good (you can see some glow) but if you stop it to f 5.6 it gets very sharp. The out of focus rendering is OK and overall the results are quite acceptable.

Maybe not so impressive as the Contax G lenses but still not bad.

Some samples resized to 1600. Click on them to see the proper resolution.

And some pix from the zoo
