I have never really done many panoramas and I certainly have not yet acquired the great skill of manual stitching yet,
however there was a beautiful sunset last night so I thought I might give an in camera panorama a whirl.
Taken on my Nex-5 using my Minolta W.Rokkor-SG 28 3.5 aperture at about 5.6 I believe.

Sorry about the small size, I always struggle with the best way to display panoramas on screen as opposed to a print.
I'm trying to stitch one myself at the moment, but I am having some troubles... so this will do for now. Wink

I know it inspired me to go out again this very afternoon! Very Happy

Here is a new 8 image stitch I did just this afternoon after reading that tutorial.
I know it may not be the best subject matter, but I like it for trying something new to me.
I shot it on my Nex-5 using my Jupiter 8 at aperture 5.6

hi decided to put this here rather then opening another thread, the panorama i shot yesterday in a creek or a gully not shure the right word, its from 22 shots Very Happy decided to go big from the first time Razz
BTW maybe we can open a "Big Panorama Thread" ? could be a cool thread.

Shot this Portrait style with 28mm nikkor f8 using 60d.
you can see CC more clearly in this jpeg file.
Used PS Photomerge to make this,
like so:
1. Select the files in Bridge
2. Tools -> Image Processor -> Photomerge
3. Select Settings (only setting to tweak really is the Projection style of the final image) I selected Flat type or Planar as described in the Pano Tutorial above.
4. Wait for it to finish...... DONE! now only crop and save as a .TIF file.
after that you can tweak what ever you need in Camera Raw.

I must admit its alot of fun! specially to see end result.

I work with Photoshop since a long time but for panorama's I use AutoStitch... I guess I'm a bit lazy Wink

Wow, how many photos is that comprised of?

I will have to check this auto-stitch program. thanks. Very Happy

I think this should be 10 photos for the first and 8 at the second panorama.

another one:

only 4 photos used on this if I remember right.. unfortunatly it wasn't planed as panorama so the top is missing. Sad

Cool, so is that a native feature? or do you have a stitch app for your phone?

it is in the phone, I just have to remove the black border

Here's one from the other day, a shot of Little River where it is subject to the tides of the Petticodiac river system. You can see how steep the banks are, and the ice that forms every time the tide goes out.

I used the DigiKam quick pano tool, basically it pulls JPEGs from RAW files and passes them to Hugin with sensible default settings. I've had good luck with this software, but for some reason it has decided that my Planar 50/1.7 secretly wants to be a fisheye.

I didn't catch the river at it's lowest tide and this is close to home so I'm declaring this is a test shot, i.e. didn't spend time trying to unfish the perspective, fix the blowouts on the snow etc. I'll retake this soon and hopefully do it justice.

Wow, that does have a massive wide fish-eye feel, that is actually really cool!

Fuzzywuzzy, is this west of Riverview?

I think I took some heron shots there in the summer

Exactly right, it's Mitton Rd off the 112 heading towards Salisbury, that old covered bridge just off the road. I actually took these leaning out the window of the bridge Smile

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Mitton+Road,+Riverview,+NB,+Canada

I saw a big group of herons (maybe a dozen birds) last spring. One day they were down my way, a few days later they were up at that bridge. They seemed to be working their way up the river.

A few weeks later I was reading a NB fishing message board and they were talking about a big run of gaspereaux working their way up the Petticodiac and tributaries around that time. I'm guessing the birds were following the migrating fish upstream. This spring I'll be watching those forums and maybe get some heron shots.

there were 16 when i was there , but my lens wasnt wide enough to capture all of them Smile

and on that google maps you sent me, they were in the bend of the river directly above the word "mitton"
