I finally found one at a reasonable price (for plastic anyway), and am really liking the effect so far. Also, finally a lens that is not a Nikon that actually works on my Nikon...here's my post about it, with more piccies: http://sjp.id.au/photography/sima-soft-focus-lens/

And here's what it does to a sunset:

A very interesting and oftentimes affordable lens IMO, allowing for a good bit of creativity.

Downside I'm seeing, buying on the used market, is possibility of not receiving a complete set of aperture discs. Be watchful, if you opt for this lens, that you receive both discs. Of course with no disc installed you are always at f/2.

Mine didn't come with the original aperture discs. I just made my own from black card and inserted them Smile

Never liked that lens, there are much better options IMHO, as I like soft focus photography a lot.

I use (lenses used in picture description):

Just one of many options. I have an old Brownie Hawkeye lens that produces some interesting images too.
