When i was given my Yashica FR-1 and Contax RTS II Quartz gear there was a Tamron Adaptall 2 135mm f2.5 close focus 18* BBAR MC lens with the C/Y adapter which stops down OK on the Yashica but will NOT stop down on the Contax... I check the Contax using the Depth of Field Button and fire shutter on a manual speed looking into lens but it will not stop down.
Any Ideas ?

remove the adaptall adator and mount it on both cameras alone, try the dof button?

could be that the servos on the other don't have power enough to actually stop down the lens, it can be pretty heavy?
try the aperture lever on the lens - is it very heavy? the one with the roller
