Well i bought a lucky dip box of old camera gear from the Ebay as there was a Tamron lens in it and i thought why not?
Even though the photos of the lens were blurry, the last Tamron i scored was a winner (28mm 2.8 m42) so hopefully this will be too.
Well after receiving it the other day have found it is in excellent condition and from testing so far (pics are hand held no pp, this thing weighs in at 800g so the sharpness could be better) am loving it.
And can be used for macro.

This lens too heavy to use camera tripod mount but never fear!
Have an adapter with mount built in coming so stay tuned to see how sharp it goes Smile

all these are wide open at 38mm

This does not appear to be a common lens, and it is in good condition.
You certainly have a lucky find there.
Images look good and the lens seems to have plenty of potential.
Thanks for sharing these

I've had a lot of good pictures from other lenses in that Tamron BBAR series. If your lens is as good as the others you have a very nice lens.

I have two of these, built like a tank but so very heavy, never used one Embarassed

You got some lovely shots from it!

Cheers guys.
waiting now for the mount adapter.
It is a Tank!
I thought using the Tair 11a was heavy, but this thing is a workout.
Here's one taken with this lens of a project i've begun, am converting Electro 35 45mm 1.7 yashinon to E mount.
Well trying to anyway.

That is SHARP! Congrats on a great score!

Quick question: that looks like an Adaptall lens, correct? Could I use that lens with an Adaptall-2 adapter? And conversely, could I use an Adaptall-2 lens with an Adaptall adapter? (I don't know if it makes a difference, but I thought I should mention that I shoot with a Nikon D700.)

Pretty much the ad and ad-2's are interchangeable, howevever the Nikon situation is the most complicated see my page:

Very fine lens.
I like Tamron zoom lenses a lot. They give very fine results and are a plesure to use.

It seems your 38-100 f3.5 is the CZ-38M version made in 1976.

There was a previous version made in 1973 :
