I am liking my experience with Tamron so far. This is my fourth lens from this maker.

Lady slipper at MFD and ISO 64 wide open.
Bit of flare crossing the image from upper left to lower right.
Not sure if this is a fault of the old cheap N.P.S. 1-A filter I have on it.
The front face of the focus ring contacts the squeeze tabs on the pinch cap without it, which is about the only major design flaw I can find with this lens.

Another slipper, this time at f8.
It is very sharp, at least in the center.
Perhaps f5.6 would better fill the prescription for this level of detail.
I find the back ground a bit distracting.

Will have more to add later with some crops of the above.

Center crop of the wide open at f2.5 image above.

Center crop of the stopped down to f8 image above.

At f8 here.

At f5.6. Shows a bit of very slight barrel distortion towards the edges.

I have to be a bit more careful with metering on scenic frames- it has a tendency to blow-high lights out at the narrow center-weighted or spot settings.

This lens is worth working with a lot more.

First samples previously posted in the "Latest Lens" thread in the m/f lens forum.
Both at f2.5.
