Anyone used this?

Just got one at Goodwill for 3 bucks in new condition with genuine case and SRT adaptall thrown in!

I'm about to try it on the K10D with adaptall-2 KA adapter...

A bit soft WO, but decent lens, nice to handle. Pleasant shortest focusing distance (70cm is not bad for a 150mm/3.5).

Wow, I've seen an enlargement from my local friend Don of
some rooftops in fog, using this lens, and the (approximately)
16x20 was phenomenal! I certainly didn't see it as soft, but of
course opinions and circumstances vary. My guess is that he
was at about 90mm on the lens focal point. I thought the "style"
of the lens looked very nice on his camera too. Congratulations!
It will be interesting to see what you think of the lens. In any
case, what a BARGAIN! Shocked

Thanks...

I now have 17 Tamron Adaptall / Adaptall-2 lenses and 3 adaptamatics.. along with 15 different adaptall adapters.. just too little time to shoot at the moment!

I am looking for a nice T90 to use them on for film, as I have not seen fully functional adapter for the EOS that would allow use on my EOS 1n-RS... I have tried some on my Pentax K10D but seem to be having weird exposure / focus AND contrast problems with that camera...

The focus appears 'soft' even with AF lenses I know to be right from use on the *istD like the FA 1.4 and 100mm 2.8 Macro - the A series macro is also not performing well on this camera, and histograms show a very uneven expoure curve.. not sure if something odd has happened to it - not been dropped or anything that I know.. but nothing from it seems right, and everything is either slightly soft and or 'flat'.. no vibrancy whatsoever..

The same (Tamron) lenses on the Panasonic L-1 sing - but the small viewfinder image on that is bugging me as my eyesight deteriorates.. and the viewfinder also makes it hard to see the info in bright light, as well as the edges of the framing... The EOS 1n RS is WONDERFUL in the viewfinder department, especially with the pellicle allowing zero blackout, so I thought perhaps a nice T90 with EOS-like handing and the ability to use my extensive collection of FD and FD (L) primes as well as the Tamrons? We shall see... Anyone seen a good one at a reasonable price?

Doug

Doug, I'll ask around with the local photographers. The T90 is one
of the best cameras ever made by Canon, in my opinion. And
I'm sure you probably already know that. The T90 gives you
so many choices, and makes it easy to change those choices.

Thanks..

Yes I hold the T90 in high esteem!

Any help appreciated!

Doug.

Hi nemesis101

Do you mean Tamron SP 70-150mm f2.8 soft focus as this link
http://www.adaptall-2.com/lenses/51A.html
?

If so, you have a ball. It's an interesting lens especially for portrait lens.

I post in Marketplace section to find this lens for my last jobs.

In this lens, you can control an area out of focus to blur or sharp it.

I try to find it and Schneider Variogon too.

Very Happy

Hi

Sadly no...
It's a straightforward constant aperture 3.5 zoom..

There are two types - 20A and the later 20AB. I like mine, the Iq is more than adequate but the handling is great. They are so easy to use.
Apparently some examples are stunning but I guess it's a bit of a lucky dip. Do you feel lucky?
