They are really nice Lloydy.

Ohhh !
That rocks !
They're splendid with a little cold tone on the graveyard ones, and warm colours very well caught on the "railingfinial".

Where are you from Lloydy ?
Wales, Ireland ?

I live in Ironbridge, Shropshire, a very photogenic part of the world. But I am Welsh and my wife's Irish, you must have psychic powers!

The cross in the graveyard was taken in a blizzard along with some using the Pentax autofocus lens, which didn't work at all as it was focusing on the falling snow at random. Sometime MF is the answer.

I'm going out today and am taking my Pentax K10 along with the Soligor, a Helios 44M and maybe a pair of old Vivitar MF zooms. I like the MF stuff, it makes me concentrate.

My soligor arrived this morning 2.8/135 solid barrel like lens.It came with a metal hood and I noticed the back lens is yellowish and flat not curved like some are is this a cheap design?

It may be a filter. I have a Zenitar fisheye with coloured filters which are to be screwed in the back.
Try to unscrew it.

You can see those filters here :

I think it may be a coating more than a filter,I have no tool to try and turn where there are groves.I don't want to scratch the back glass as all the glass is clear on this lens.
I have taken some photos on film and will put them up when developed.
Do you know what the CS stands for?

Yes, it could be. Avoid to scratch the glass if you don't have a tool.

I don't know what the red CS means.
Try to ask to Luisalegria by sending him an MP with the topic link. He is a Soligor's expert. Wink

This is not a filter, but a very good lens coating of the fixed rear element, probably zirconium oxide (ZrO2) that can be applied to the glass surface only at a temperature of over 2700 degrees centigrade. It will minimize internal reflexions and render deeply saturated, cool colors as with Yashica or Contax lenses. I have the 3.5 version of this lens and you can be happy to own it. I will never part with it. It was manufactured either by Tokina or even by Tomioka. "CS" is the abbreviation for "Chinon System" and signifies the PU Pentax universal screw-mount M42. May we ask you for some sample shots at the widest opening of 2.8?
