As promised I finally got a chance to shoot a few quick snaps with my new gem. When it came in I was amazed at how tiny it is.
These are all taken with the a7ii using the double adapter system someone suggested, DKL to M42, and M42 to NEX with helical (mine is a Pixco).

I believe the 90mm was released for the Instamatic Reflex and the 85 was originally released with the Retina IIIS and all the Retina Reflexes (except the first which had a fixed lens). The Instamatic Reflex lenses had the same mount, but lacked the cool moving red DOF pointers. The 135mm and 200m lenses for the Instamatic Reflex were also black as opposed to chrome.

A little bump in brightness and contrast, as I like to underexpose slightly to try to keep details in bright areas. And 2-3 increase in sharpen (ie not much) in Gimp. Straight from the camera in jpg they look pretty damn good. If I get a chance later I will post some unprocessed examples. _________________ photos are moments frozen in time |

Thanks! Yes it is quite good. The big flaw with the DKL Schneiders seems to be a deficiency of close focus capabilities. But with a helical adapter that problem is solved. Really sharp and great colors. _________________ photos are moments frozen in time |

Glad to see the suggested adapter sequence worked out - nice images. I was tempted to get that 90mm a while back but settled for the 85mm instead, and happy with it. I wonder how different they are shot side-by-side. _________________ Lochlann

Ah thanks, and excellent advice ont the adapter. I now have one to EF as well. I wish I could get FD and MD examples, maybe in time some intrepid entrepreneur will go there.
