Hi guys, I just won a rolleiflex (QBM mount) HFT 50mm/1.4 for USD$154 does it worth it? Anyone experience this lens?

I think is a bit high but I have read some good things for HFT coating and I don't think I can afford the HFT 85mm/1.4 any soon and don't even think about the real CZ planer....haha..

By the way I am using a pentax K100Ds body so still have to find someone to change the mount for me....

I will post some pictures of the lens once I got it : ) THANKS!

It isn't cheap and for pentax k mount it will be even more expensive, I would prefer a M42 or Pentax K mount pentax smc or super takumar 1.4/50.

Oh the lens arrive today, is actually a rollei by carl zeiss (QBM mount) still need to find someone to change it into PK or M42( $ again...). I will try to compare it to my SMC 50mm 1.7 which I like it very much. Do you guys think this will beat the SMC 50mm 1.7? I use it the most, not sure if this carl zeiss will beat it...

I'm sorry to say this but I guess that this is not a very logical thing. Register distance for RolleiQB is 44.60mm which is shorter than PK. There are good M42 and PK lenses out there like Super Takumar 50/1.4 for less money.

I tried "converting" a Rollei 50/1.8 Planar to PK. Didn't work. I took off a huge amount of metal and it still couldn't reach infinity. Better to use it on Canon EOS or Oly 4/3 rather than mangle the lens.

Yea the register distance is different, so impossible to use just a adaptor to convert it. But I know a guy in local that perform mount change for different lens for people and I found the following link which a guy successfully change the mount with infinitely focus, but looks too complicate to me haha... so I better go find someone to do it or I will ruin the lens....hehe
