Hi everybody,

Here are some photos made today with this projection lens ( I still find it quite strange to use biotar design on projector... but many site refere this lens to be an Helios). It has focusing ring from his projector, but naturely no diaphragm.
On Sony A7.

Very nice! How is that focusing done?

Focus part (black) is from the projector itself. The silver part is adapter. So, you just have to "extract" the focus ring from the projector LETI-60 (ЛЭТИ-60), and adapt it to M42 (not hard, diameter are quite close)
Maybe it's easier to understand with photo :

Focal flange is also mod friendly, it's pretty long.

Some soviet projectors use Sonnar, Tessar and even Petzval lens designs, so, why not biotar Smile

Cemented lens elements are to be avoided for projection as the heat tends to break the lens cement

Excellent colors! Vibrant, but still quite natural. How do you achieve that kind of balance?

New exemplar of this lens, but with diaphragm in front of the lens. When closed at around 11 and more, it vignet, but in other case, it's barely visible.

The guy who made some of my lenses adaptation (RO-502, Helios 92, KO-120M...) wrote instruction in order to adapt this lens to M42. It's in russian, but it may interest some of you (schems provided) : http://lens-club.ru/articles/item/c_59.html

Really great lens, thanks for sharing!
I think this lens is fabulous, and they are very little information about it on internet… I feel really lucky I’ve got it for cheap Smile
Here a little gallery with my first experiments with it!
