I've used the preset to set the Helios to go from f/2 to f/2.8 only, and I just close to the point were I start to see the diaphragm showing (I think around f/2.2 or f/2.5)
I love this lens, but as I do most of my portraits on group events with other photographers, I don't usually have the time I want/need to be in front of the models to manual focus and repeat if I don't nail the focus at first shot.
So, for convenience I pick up the Auto-Focus lenses more often.
I try to use it more on my personal portrait projects.

Next time I must be careful to not to place the model's head close to the edge of the frame because it start to lack sharpness.
