looks nice... and the hood is quite long! |
The Sonia brand hoods usually are but then thats exactly what you need to shade a lens with a huge front element like this. The Sonia hoods have a male thread on one end and a female on the other so you can screw filters etc onto the front of them...And they dont cost much either. |

I also own a Spiratone 135mm f/1.8, which was built by Sigma.
However, I thought some of you might find this other lens interesting.
I was looking for a lens on eBay when I came across this 135mm f/1.8 attached to a "broken" night vision device. It was poorly listed, blurry photo, and I bought the whole kit for $60. I intended to harvest the lens and use it on my DSLR.
When I got the night vision device, I discovered there was a dead internal battery with a bad contact. I fixed this and now the $2500 night vision works perfectly.
The lens appears to be a Japanese made T-mount lens but the T-mount was changed for some custom mount that seems to be strongly attached with hex screws (and maybe even superglued in place!). I didn't want to destroy the mount by accident, so I left it in place.
The night vision is astonishing. It is a Gen III and gives remarkable images. It even came with a Nikon mount for the back of the imager.
(Sorry for the dusty photos)
Can anyone ID the lens maker? |

today it arrived.
close to mint condition, perfect glass, smooth focus, perfect working aperture. only the M-A-shift is a bit sticky.
and it is HUGE! i will post some test pictures once i have my 5D (hopefully soon, i will find a good cheap one).
and attached to my EOS30
the design (here esp. the M-A shift, the lens cap, and the lettering) is very similar to the "weltblick 2.5/24" i sold some weeks ago. seems that it was the same manufacturer. does anyone have a clue which one it could be?
