This is just part of lens , a telephoto conversion lens, need to have genuine normal lens too with shutter. It is not draw any circle alone.

This is an interesting device. Its a telephoto adapter but with a variable focal length- a very early zoom lens. It also had multiple ranges of focal lengths depending on how it was combined with the base camera lens.

It can be used by itself, it just has a very long focal length, I have tried mine.
This can also be used by replacing the front cell of a tessar type lens on its shutter.
I have one, but Its very dirty inside and I am still thinking about how to open it.
This was made for a Plaubel camera and I think the threads don't match standard Zeiss or Schneider mountings or standard size Compur shutters.

Fascinating device. Any samples on NEX? Laughing

Btw, interesting detail, the French text says that there must be two scales on the lens corresponding to magnification in two of the usage modes:
1) with rear cell of a doublet screwed at the rear
2) standalone (with bigger magnification)
There seems to be only one scale on the lenses in the first link (Joe Photo).
