Unfortunately I have no experience with coppermine I just saw the features and I found to be nice.

I use gallery2 on mflenses.com quiet good software with lot of option, but it has some weakness too.

All galeries on my site are powered by myself crafted Perl script. It does its job and is lightweigted compared to other gallery software I came across. After few alterations it can be used on any site. cgi-bin and .htaccess access is however required.
