Hi,
just sharing some pictures taken with the Nikon 50mm f1.2 AIS, which I recently found on my hard disk.
All taken in Switzerland.

Enjoy.

Nice shots with one of my favorite lenses!

Here's one of mine.

I got one recently, a minor thing so far that i don t like is a bit too much distortion at short to mediun distances, considering it s a 50 mm lens. A bit of what i am talking about is in your second picture, the lamp post.

You are right, distortion with this lens is such sometime that it is not easy to correct in post-production, at least with Lightroom. That was the case with the picture with the bell tower.
Cheers.

You guys are right about the distortion, it is very noticeable.
However, the lens I don't think was intended to be used as a "landscape" lens. i think its strength lies in isolated subjects/portraiture/low-light capabilities. That's like faulting a 2.8/35 for not being good for portraits.
And I do not know about others, but if I click on a 1.2/50 thread, I'd expect at least one picture at 1.2 ;p would be nice to see the sharpness and wide open.
However, those are nice shots. Very well composed.

Thanks. I think the first picture is f1.2
Below a few more.
Cheers.

F1.2

(with some bokeh bubbles...)

F1.4
(some swirl effect)

F2.8 I think

Envious (of the lens, but mostly of the photo).

Where is the problem? Come over to Zurich, you'll find the metal fence is in one of the alleyways of the old town, in walking distance from the main station.

Cheers.

Very nice to me too.
Kyle, it renders superbly on the D810 !

I own 50mm f1.4 and 55mm f1.2, both very good with some aura wide open.
