I am curious if anyone has tips on how to open/remove the lens mount of this without disassembling the whole lens. This has the screwless mount.

Thank you.

I looks to be a completly different mechanical design, but just in case, you maybe get an idea on how to open it...

i mean, if you want to clean the lens elements or something, try to start from the front

Very nice and detailed tutorial , Thanks. I am more interested in the lens mount removal since its screwless. I am wondering if I have to start from the front of the lens and disassemble my way back to the lens mount, in order to remove the lens mount. How is this "screwless" mount held down? Very Happy

Thanks , I appreciate the link ,however it was for the 50mm . I have not found any info even after after extensive search-on the wild wild web.
This 105mm has only 1 screw on the aperture ring.-I will have to try taking that screw off and unscrewing the aperture ring which I have not tried yet. Very Happy .

Cheers

Are there screws on the inner black ring, i mean not on the mount, of course, but on the portruding black part, that s "inside" the mount, sorry for the poor english Rolling Eyes

Yes Thomas , I see three screws under the ears thats screwing it to the black baffle- ( the portruding black part, that s "inside" the mount- as you put it).

hmmm, yes those are the screws i was talking about, on an "normal" mount those usually fix the mount ring to the inner, black part, where there are the lens elements usually. I never had to remove them, to remove the mount. I don t think that they support the mount, i read somewhere that you have to be careful not to remove the portruding one (if there is one), becouse it retains a spring of the aperture mechanism. To me, the screw under it, on your picture on the body looks more promising.
