These are M42-NEX adapters with built-in focus helicoid.

But regular M42 helicoids can attach to M42-NEX adapter. Is price better?

The problem with M42/Nex adapter + M42/M42 helicoid is that the adapter is very thick. If you need to mount a lens with shorter register it won't work. Anyway the prices of M42/Nex helicoids are similar for those M42/M42 helicoids.

I could not find a very thin M42->NEX converter, so I made a hole in
the NEX body cap to fit M42->M42 helicoid. This is quite usable, but
the problem is its mechanical strength is not great. Someone in future
may make this thin adapter such as M42->F mount converter (1mm thick).

M42->M42 helicoid is more useful for me, and more versatile. I also found
Nikon F->micro 4/3 converter (non focus adapter). like this>

This one is not too thick, and nikon has many ext. tubes, and with the above
M42->F converter you can also use M42 helicoid together.

You can find an L-mount to M42 converter (1mm thick) too.

I've got a thin M42 to NEX adapter of sorts:

Click here to see on Ebay.de

It's a C mount adapter with an extra M42 thread - I got it because it is the widest C mount adapter I could find, it fits my unmodified C mount Tevidons. I can put my M42 helicoids and an M39-M42 adapter and mount most of my weird and wonderful M39 lenses and get infinity focus. Exceptions I found so far are the Componon 28/4 (I may be able to mount it recessed far enough to get infinity) and the Computar dL 55/1.9.

The one major disadvantage of this adapter is its 25mm C mount acts as a baffle. This is less of a problem with most slow enlarging lenses, but a big one for the Nikkor-O 55/1.2. I could Dremel out the C mount, but then my Tevidons won't fit anymore..
