Yes, I couldn't resist it. It's an Argus C3 camera ("the brick"), the one shown at the Harry Potter's film (according to my son). I was behind one since long... This time was only $20...
Picture file

Coming from the US, I expect it to arrive in some 3-4 weeks.
Best regards,
Jes.

Thanks Attila, I've to stop collecting and start using them...
I've got too many in the refurbishing/test queue so far...
The Electro 35 is still waiting for reseal, this chistmas days doesn't allow for much spare time.

I will ban myself from eBay during the first Q of 2008...
Best regards,
Jes.

Yes, it's curious. I like the external synchronization for the rangefinder. Instead of moving the lens, one moves a tuning wheel that moves the lens.
It was a success in the US by the 50's, some people say it was the "culprit" for the widespreading of the 35mm film roll in cameras...
It has an uncommon optics, the colour corrected Cintar lens, triple coated. I'm just curious about how this lens will perform with modern colour film.

Best regards,
Jes.

Merry Christmas!!

This cam is a classic one! Congratulations! Really a great find.

Argus "watched" Barnack's developments and copied the Leica idea, thus spreading the 35mm film across the new world. Wink

Great cam. My dad owns its predecessor. I am sure you will like it.

Thanks, Carsten. Looks pretty. My only doubt it's the bakelite degradation along the years. My Kodak brownie's bakelite is starting to disagregate... Hope the Argus will be more solid.
Best regards,
Jes.

Merry Christmas!

Simply an absolute beauty. The epitome of "thought" going into a camera. The Cintar lens is going to make you take notice -- I've seen results from these wonderful cameras with the Cintar lens, and the results are world-class.

A TRUE sleeper.

Thanks Laurence!. I've received the shipment confirmation this afternoon, maybe I wouldn't wait so long...
Best regards,
Jes.
