AFAIK the Nikon & Pentax mount versions do have auto-aperture.

Sorry, for some reason I thought torbod had a Canon body. It looks like the Sony/Minolta version doesn't have auto aperture either?

@woodrim: The only difference between the different brand names are the cosmetics of the lens. Vivitar has bright red ring and red lettering, and a different focus ring. The Rokinon/Samyang version looks a lot better to me and the focus ring rubber most probably feels better too.

I had this lens. Is very sharp at 1.4-2, have good contrast and great bokeh. There is some CA wide open and at f/2 and flare is a little problem when sun is straight to lens. In my eyes this lens have some 3d but photos at f/1.4 looks like have more dof than Planar at 1.4. I`m not sure why but i feel diference. One more thing - minimal focusing distance is 1m of the front of the lens...Planar mfd is 1m from sensor - the difference is about 15-20cm - for me very important. Overall this lens is perfect for this price. Very good optical performance in low-light situations.

Ok, last update. Everyone seems quite sure that this is a keeper.

Thus, I have bought the lens. Now I'm waiting for the delivery.
I'll return with my verdict when I have tested it for some time.

Now it's here Very Happy

I'm glad I bought it. Thus the answer to the question was apparently YES!

Some snapshots from the first tour, all wide open, light PS (crop, resize, levels, micro contrast and sharpening). Please open in native size for judgment.

Gate. (Untouched, just resized).

Bike stand

I will have lots of fun with this lens for a long time. Highly recommended
