I couldn't resist buying this one for 25USD. It's in really god condition and feels more solid than my other Russian lenses.
I don't know what kind of reputation it has and I haven't really formed an opinion yet since I have used it so little. Anyhow, some samples from last weekend:

This one is not in perfect focus but i liked the color rendition

This lens is my last acquisition too, and I love it: for its compactness, beautiful shape, sharpness and color rendition.

Some samples:

The size is indeed a positive factor. It's very similar to a Helios 44 in that aspcet.
My plan is to try it out more tomorrow.

Really excited to get my lil Russian Gem, it's in the mail as we speak.

Great shots Sven, can't wait to see some more samples. Great colours.

Oh, great shots.
Did you observe any problem at infinity?

Recently received an 89 model Mir 1B. Initial shots washed out, but then found an appropiate lens hood (off my 135mm Super Tak), and the lens is transformed. Sharp, good contrast, interesting bokah, and nil CA as far as I can see. OOF highlights interesting, a bit like a mirror lens!

My copy of Mir 1B, year 88, is little sharp at infinity focus.

I'm waiting a lens hood too and test it with the lens.
Last test with two different adapters (one thin and one thicker) on my Canon 40D I had different results.
So I don't understand if the problem is the lens or the adapter.

Is there anybody with these problems and a possible solution?

it is an irresistible little gem, very unique and small body
played with one yesterday in a shop, they wanted too much for it, but when I am back in Europe I shall try to get one too

Contact me, when you're back. I might sell mine... (I don't know if I should, though...)

Thanks for all your comments.
I used the lens some more this weekend, but haven't checked the result yet.

Infinity on my lens seems to happen when the scale says 10m. If I go to infinity on the scale it will become less sharp.
Somewhat annoying, but as long as I use the focus confirmation in the camera it's ok.

Some more samples from today. No photgraphical masterpieces, but more of the test shot kind.

Thanks!
It's a Buick Eight. Belongs to a friend of mine.
Straight eight cylinder engine, I'm guessing it was built in the forties.
