Just bought a new lens on ebay for PK mount, but I can't find any information about this lens at all. All I find is about different Steinheil lenses.

Anyone knows anything about this one? I can't be dissapointed given the price it was

Thank you! This is my first MF lens, so don't know much about them, do you have any idea of the picture quality of this one?

This is a commonplace lens with the old Steinheil name on it. The lens itself is available under many names. Its not hard to make a good 135 f2.8 lens. Try it! You may find the image at f2.8 slightly 'soft', go down to f4 or a little further, you'll get real sharp images then.

Sounds great, only paid about 60 euro with shipping so I'm rather happy. I bought this instead of 85mm for my NX300 (650 euro) can't wait to try it out

Ouch Sad The lens is worth maybe 10-15 EUR with shipping. Every flea market here in Berlin is full of these no-name 135mm lenses selling for around that price. If you can still cancel that transaction or return the lens, do it!

Make sure you don't confuse this Japanese lens with any of the Steinheil 135/2.8s made in the West Germany during 1950s to 1960s. It will be a good deal if it is the one made in Germany but not the one made in Japan.

Oh well, I can't find it cheaper on eBay in the same condition as the one I bought, mabye I overpaid, but its a lot less than the 650€ I was about to spend on the NX 85mm.

Like I said, I'm new to this, was actually thinking I paid a fair price, but for 60€ the quality has to be OK?

The price you paid has nothing to do with the lens quality. I'm sorry to say it's going to be a below average 135mm lens no matter how much you pay for it. Good 135mm lenses include Nikkor AI and AIS 135/2.8, Olympus OM Zuiko 135/2.8 (MC and the latest unlabeled version), Zeiss Sonnar 135/2.8 (C/Y mount) among the rest. Many no-name Japanese manufacturers used to make 135mm lenses, a huge number of those was sold under literally hundreds of names (Focal, J.C.Penny, Helios, Steinheil, Hoya, Vivitar, Soligor, PORST, Revuenon, SUN, and countless other "brands"). Today, they are worth about 10-15 EUR.

Let's not depress JimmyHBG too much - I have one $10-15 value 135/2.8 that's actually very good indeed and he might be well pleased with his when it arrives.

Jimmy's lens is probably the Samyang made one that is seen under many brands.

It's a good lens, very sharp, good colours and contrast.
