+1 on #2. I love the solid drops. Very cool shots, also seems like a quality macro lens (not a very expensive one either).

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks again for the kind words, it's too much really Embarassed

For the technique:
- I put the camera on a tripod with a macro lens mounted (1:2)
- In front of the lens I put a glass dish (about 20x30cm), filled with water
- Under the dish, I put a piece of coloured paper, blue in all cases
- Above the dish, I lined up a second tripod, with a plastic sandwich bag filled with water hanging underneath
- Behind the dish, I mounted a vertical piece of coloured paper (blue in #2, pink in #s1&3)
- An wireless flash (power about 1/16) was directed to this piece of paper
- With a needle, I made a very small hole in the bag with water
- For focussing, I used the tip of a pencil, which I put in the water at the place where the drops fell

The point is: make very many photos! It's all about timing!!!
Yesterday, I shot about 600 photos like this, about 1/3 only containing ripples in the water, or even totally calm water Very Happy

Have fun!

I had the flash at about 2 feet from the 'reflector', at 1/16. Aperture set to 8, speed 180, with the on-board flash as trigger only.

I hope it's not too impolite to show some more of these, since I shot some more today....? Embarassed

Lovely photos. The 2nd set is even more impressive.

I will have to read the procedures a few more times to understand. Will it be too much to ask you to take a photo of the whole setup the next time you are playing with the water droplets? I am more a visual person for this matter. Embarassed

Good results!!
I know how it is to catch some droplet with camera, not easy Smile
Next time I recommend using a larger dish (large BW photography developing bath), and lower camera for better water reflection. Than will be exellent!!! Smile
