The Steinheil I picked up is stiffer than most lenses I have. Under normal situations its a minor iritation but I tried to use it outdoors and the cold made it even stiffer.
Any suggestions other than dismantling? _________________ EMPLOYMENT: That which funds photography and woodworking.j.lukow

Fire your oven (yes, oven) for <5mins, then give it about 20-30mins to cool down before you toss the lens in there for a few hours. At that point take it out and see if it's not a bit more limber in the focus. I would suggest rolling thru the focus a dozen times or so if the grease is a bit more relaxed.
BTW, you're just firing the oven the get the chill out of it. You don't really want to generate alot of heat, this should relax the grease a bit. _________________ Seymore...

"One axiom I discovered proved to be of great value: the client seldom, if ever, knows exactly what he wants from the photographer. However, his pride does not allow him to give you any such ridiculous impression. The desire and need for interpretative work is usually uninformed and the client often looks to the professional for guidance in this respect.

I am afraid they crappy build lenses. One times I opened a 85mm f2.8 lens, because aperture was stuck open. Man, I found plastic inside! _________________
