Yes, I thought so too ...... except that there are three bayonet-type lugs |

You need a Komura Uni Auto adapter to use this lens. The information can be found on a Komura catalog here http://www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info/komura_1.html . _________________ https://lensfever.com/

Ditto, it looks like a Uni Auto lens. That was Komuras first auto interchangeable mount system. For such a small company they sure had a lot of these mount systems!
Best way to find a uni auto mount reasonably cheaply is to pick up one of their early zooms like the 70-150 or 80-250. - see the catalog above to know what to look for. The zooms aren't in much demand. Sometimes, rarely, a spare mount shows up. I have one of these for Minolta. Careful though, they had another, different mount system for their later zooms. Don't get these for the mounts, they won't work for your prime. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

Thank you Calvin and Luisalegria.
Here is a Komura zoom with adapter.
It is one of the older zooms, I think.
However the pins on the lens look different to those shown in the wide angle lens.
Do you think that this adapter will still work on the wide angle Komura lens?
Thanks for your expertise

Dont know, cant answer you precisely. I have had only a few auto Komuras.
It LOOKS like it should be a compatible mount. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

Thanks Luisalegria for your input.
I don't have the wide angle lens but will find out more.
I do own the zoom, but wasn't aware of its adapter until you mentioned it earlier - then, presto, off it came.
Those little pins seem to be the aperture coupling mechanism on the zoom lens, and are activated by the M42 pin on the adapter.
They just look to be a different type on the wide angle lens.
I wonder if there was yet another type of Komura adapter besides the one that I have.

There are two types of automatic Uni adapter. The adapter on a Uni-Auto Super Komura is the older type(say type I) and the adapter on a Super Komura(without the Uni-Auto marking) is the newer type(say type II). Type II have bigger aperture coupling mechanism. You can use the type II adapter on type I but not vice versa.
In your case, the adapter(type I) on your zoom won't fit your 28mm F3.5(type II). _________________ https://lensfever.com/

I always look for 'uni-auto'... From what I recalled, most type II prime lenses has a black rear part and these type I primes has a chrome rear part accepting the mount. _________________ https://lensfever.com/
