Supposed to be a good camera. Tessar scheme lens. Sometimes "P" coated on the earlier additions. There were a few samples posted in the forum a while back. I've heard the film counter is usually broken (must have been a weak part) and in the case if the iskra 2, the selenium cell might not be light sensitive if it wasn't stored properly.

I wouldn't spend more than $125 on it. Even that price is dictated more by how relatively uncommon it is. It's probably a very decent shooter but it would not surpass anything that you have. And for that price, you can probably get something much better. |

Iskra is a nice cam! Good for travel.
Try to find 1st version with dead counter and self-made red window in the back to avoid problems with blocking and overlapping.
$100 is a good price.
Few samples:
P.S.: Iskra-2 has selenium cell as it was said before and it is not good idea to buy it. Also it will costs more than $100 because only 6118 was made. |

Actually I'm newbie at photography and Iskra was my first expirience with
medium format. Also I tried TLR Frexaret and now I'm gonna shoot some
6x9 folders and 6x7 SLR. Hope to find some useful info here! |

First roll was disappointment I forgot the rule first knock shutter and transport only after, I guess I made only one or two good frame... when I got home I did put one old roll and start to learn how it works. Lesson was successful in my room. I worry a bit film transport perhaps works fine only with old films where material is thicker than new ones. Let we see... _________________ -------------------------------

Yes, I hope too. There is a work around make hole on back to see frame numbers, certainly I won't butcher a rare camera like this. _________________ -------------------------------
