I have been testing my Cooke Aviar at f/8 with a lens shade, not as thoroughly as the Uno as I've been busy in real(?) life, and the temperatures have been down to normal for the time of year or even below that - presently it is -1C outside
The Uno is good, but I think the Aviar is better - as it well ought to be. At f/8 it seems to be better even in the bokeh department, without any tweaks. I have put two series of photos on my site, not many very good shots but more in order to have enough material to be able to judge the lens, see http://galactinus.net/vilva/retro/eos350d_aviar_f8b.html and http://galactinus.net/vilva/retro/eos350d_aviar_f8c.html.
I also converted a few shot to B&W using the blue filter style of LightZone (BTW. there is now an official linux version of LightZone), which doesn't quite give the old orthochromatic film effect but still subtly differs from the standard conversion.
As you can see, the bokeh is more or less free of nasties.
