What are the differences between Minolta Hi-matic F vs Minolta Hi-matic CS?
I have the first one and the shape look the same. I googled it but can not find the manual for the last one.
Thank you for your help

Hardly anything decent to find must be rather rare!
It appears to be very alike the F indeed, but black.
Iso 25 - 500 (Iso 25 - 400)
Seiko shutter 4sec - 1/724, just like the F
Battery 2x PX640 (replacable by 2x SR44 and a dummy)
Flash auto exposure by GN

Exactly the same as the F. If I remember correctly the S stands for Sears, as it was manufactured for this Hypermarket chain. Avaible only in black. Maybe rare in Europe. If I find the link where my information is, I will post it.

Are you shure? I mean have you tested this with slide film?

Thanks for your kind reply.

My camera just arrived, but can not find the battery.
I still confused with your statement "replacable by 2x SR44 and a dummy" above.

I use LR44 size mercuries around which I put an O-Ring number 9 (I think that is inner diameter 9). This way you have the diameter of a 625 battery. The original batteries (PX640) have this diameter but are taller. So I fill the remaining space with two balls (one per battery) of aluminium foil. Put an insulating separator between the two batteries, so you don't have a short. A piece of folded paper is sufficient.

The elegant solution would be to machine two adaptors. Can be done by every mechanical shop with a lathe. Dimensions existed on the net, but I don't find the site right now. But no problem for any shop. In fact you could take a rod of appropiate diameter and drill a hole on one end where you fit you battery in.

I use real mercuries, but maybe if you expose negative film (I expose slides) it will work with alkalines too.

I stack two SR44 on one side and some metal bolt (the dummy) in the other part of the batterychamber.
It can also be done this way: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigshock/3573056331/
Each side one and some metal spring to fill the space.
