This must be the earlier one as it looks like it has more metal. Anyone know what this lens is like and what is its value?
Unless it's much different from the 44M I'll pass it by. I already have 3 lenses of similar focal length. _________________ Casual attendance these days

Helios 77 is 6mm shorter than 44 and f/0,2 faster.
77M is more rare than 77M-4. I cant say anything about their difference - my copy of 77M-4 is not very good. _________________ (almost) complete list of Helios lenses |

I wouldn't say... Helios 77M/77M-4 has very typical bokeh (similar to Biotar and Helios 44), which is hard to find on any other lens. _________________ (almost) complete list of Helios lenses |

It's a different design. Besides, there are at least three Zenitar 50's I know of: f/1.7, 1.9 and 2.0. I have the 1.9 version, and must say that overall I like my Helios 77 better as it gives a better contrast and is sharper wide open (my Zenitar is sharper from f/5.6, though). There's a huge sample variance, too. _________________ List of lenses |
