Trying out my second Kiev lens, the Helios 103, and it's a solid little lens with lots of swirl!
To anyone who want to get a setup like this. Be careful when mounting and using a frankenstein adapter, the helicoid can unscrew from the adapter on one end and interfere with contact pins in the camera on the other end. After the latter happened the camera time/date was reset and that menu page popped up every time I started the camera. But after entering time and date again every thing is fine, thank the gods!

I never had problem with contacts on the camera using this adapter. _________________ Pierre

Thanks. I tried to choose sample photos with some variation this time
There is probably variation in the adapters. Mine has the infinity setting at about 1 meter, and outer bayonet lenses can only focus between infinity and beyond. |

The Helios-103 is a great little lens. It is an updated development of the Zeiss Biotar/Helios-44 Double Gauss design and has the same characteristics.
From what I have read it was developed to be a replacement for the Jupiter-8M as a Kiev 'kit lens'. The J-8series was getting long in the tooth and an updated design was wanted. _________________ Steve

It was good replacement in my opinion!

First link (for Sony) : YES
Second link (for Fuji) : NO! This one will work only on external part of the bayonete, so for Jupiter-12, 9, 11, etc... To use the 50mm (Helios 103, Jupiter 8, Jupiter-3) you need internal part like on the adapter for Sony.
Here is an exemple : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Contax-KIEV-RF-to-Fuji-FX-adapter-with-focusing-part-GIFT-Jupiter-8m-2-50-/322517710873?hash=item4b178db819:g:OEUAAOSw~y9ZDHbx _________________ Pierre

Yes, you just need to buy a L39 to Camera adapter. I think you can find tutorial on this forum about how to do. Or you can check my short video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8fTUFYtVt0 _________________ Pierre
