It was difficult judging, and can only go on what I liked without any "scientific" reason...and it was the first one. _________________ Canon A1, AV1, T70 & T90, EOS 300 and EOS300v, Chinon CE and CP-7M. Here are some images from my Father's Day shoot at the creek. Once again I was unsuccessful in shooting anything but birds again. A shrimp boat had just come in, accompanied by the usual bird escort. The shrimpers clean out their catch and throw the undesirable stuff in the water where the waiting seagulls, pelicans, and egrets go into a frenzy. It was a little eerie with dolphins swimming under the frantic birds, getting anything that sunk. I got caught up with catching birds in flight - something I always consider a challenge with manual focus.
I left the Meyer in the bag and used the Series 1 and two Jupiters. It is obvious that the Series 1 is the sharpest at close and intermediate distances with the J-9 M39 catching up at length to a point where it becomes almost indistinguishable. It is also obvious that the RF J-9 is the least sharp, but becomes very good at f/5.6. For the purpose of these shoots, all three lenses serve very well and the differences become little. I have post processed the images to correct for exposure and in the case of the RF J-9, color too. I did leave one picture from the RF mostly uncorrected so you can see the obvious yellow in the images (#14).

I'd be happy with any of those.
Captures like these with a MF lens are a true challenge.
Thanks

Woodrim,
This serie confirms my first impressions about the lenses,
BTW, I had an ideia to share with you, I guess you don't mind:
original_ps-edition por Renato Augusto Salles, no Flickr
original_b&w por Renato Augusto Salles, no Flickr
What do you think about the small crop and B&W conversion? The shot catched my eyes immediately when I saw it, very nice one.
Cheers,
Renato |

Yes, I'm quite comfortable with that. I should think of B&W more than I do. Thank you. _________________ Regards,
